Coaching employees on-the-job with a personalized chatbot

Project Summary
Conduent developed a personalized interactive chatbot using the Mobile Coach platform. The tool provides reinforcement for several weeks after employees complete a self-directed eBook learning program about safe driving. These short interactions, delivered weekly through a Microsoft Teams chat channel or by SMS, include questions and key messages to help ensure employees are performing the techniques they learned. The chatbot asks about actions the employee has taken on the job. The employee responds in natural language and the chatbot provides feedback, encouragement, and appreciation. The tool also collects data from employee responses, which can be used toward program improvements.

While the chatbot has not yet been rolled out, typical results from chatbot coaching include:

  • Increased learner confidence about concepts learned through training
  • Continued engagement that supports the application of learning over an extended period of time
  • Cost and time savings compared to additional training sessions
