Transformed multiple curricula into a one-stop-shop continuous learning portal

Conduent transformed a one-size-fits-all rank- and event-based learning for the first few years of a tax professional’s career into a blended continuous journey. We designed and developed a learning portal that organized and clearly presented relevant content from multiple business areas. It included clear learning paths and content accessible at the time of need.

The challenge

The client's rank- and event-based training was no longer optimal for the matrixed way in which staff are assigned to projects at this top professional services firm. Because of this, the client was moving toward a competency-based model, but was not fully there. Roles became more specialized and employees needed ongoing access to new and refresher content at the time of need. However, LMS searches often returned an overwhelming amount of content, much of it not useful at the time of need. Additionally, the client needed to make sure content related to updated regulations and skills for various career paths and project types was easy to find. Finally, learner experience was often disjointed because of multiple platforms for learning and knowledge content, with content areas at varying degrees of readiness for a transformation.


The solution

Conduent provided analysis and strategy for curriculum transformation. This included communications and change management assistance to achieve buy in from stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs). A continuous learning journey was delivered on the learning Hub platform, that served as a one-stop shop organizing both technical and soft skills content into clear pathways for functional roles, and links to other client content sites where needed. Learners could also browse for content by role and competency, search for content, and explore content outside their required learning. Through a phased, agile approach, Conduent consulted on: curriculum design, Hub site interface and structure, Hub site development and implementation.


The results

Conduent improved the learner experience through increased awareness of required and elective learning for various roles and project assignments, and ongoing access to short form content as performance support - all trackable by the learner.
