Utilized blended modalities to support the transition to remote work

Conduent designed and delivered a blended learning solution to help its own workforce and its clients and partners transition to work from home during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the vILT portion of the blend, Conduent organized and delivered webinar sessions across the globe involving speakers and panelists with extensive experience in remote working to share best practices, advice and lessons learned. The performance support is a microsite containing best practices on working remotely and managing change effectively. As a result of this learning program, Conduent employees and our client and partner employees gained skills in resiliency, flexibility and change management. The solution won a Brandon Hall Group Excellence award.

The challenge

  • The initial lockdowns during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic required swift and focused workplace transition.
  • Many Conduent employees needed rapid training on change management, health and wellbeing and actions related to transitioning from onsite to remote work.
  • Conduent realized many of its clients and partners needed this training and support too, as well as help transitioning to conducting training virtually.

The solution

  • Conduent rapidly designed and developed the Working From Home microsite and designed and delivered a series of webinars called Concentrate, Collaborate, Connect – Live from the Kitchen Table accessed on the microsite.
  • The microsite provides access to curated articles, checklists, videos and documents that address managing changes and transitions during crisis, best practices in working remotely, and health and wellbeing amid a global pandemic.
  • The solution also included best practices and information on tools for transitioning to virtual training for our clients' and partners' workforces.

The results

  • Conduent helped increase employee engagement, providing opportunities for on-going growth and development.
  • Employees gained skills and abilities in resiliency, flexibility and change management, while increasing their awareness in career upskilling opportunities that were available remotely.
