The challenge

A top leading energy company needed to align personnel to support a myriad of functions in geographically dispersed locations. The organization wanted to work with a global learning leader to help centralize, rationalize, and optimize their learning Center of Excellence. This included defining workflow inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to increase productivity. In addition, they wanted a plan to mitigate rising co-management issues from directing contractors for different companies who were doing similar work.

The solution

Conduent provided expertise in training administration, instructional design, account management, and finance to help solve these client challenges. The first step was to apply the Conduent learning design methodology and provide project management expertise to all course development. Conduent then implemented process workflows to eliminate redundancies and document best practices. This included realigning and rebadging 38 contractors, based on job role and projects, while establishing responsibilities and communications guidelines.

The results

Conduent provided expertise to reduce cost and proactively responded to business needs while significantly enhancing learner experience. We produced performance-centric learning at very competitive prices. The team replaced and retrained learning administrators, instructional designers, and project managers and improved select processes that provided clear direction and supporting resources. This immediately eliminated the co-management risk among contractors.
